MODULE: Anti-Aging Therapy

DESCRIPTION:

This program deals with the tools to slow or even stop aging and maintaining a younger appearance. Perceptions about aging are changing. Today, people are living longer, happier, and healthier lives. Medical technology and care has increased lifespan by years and sometimes even decades. A growing number of individuals are taking an active part in following antiaging techniques and maintaining lifestyles that keep our bodies in prime physical condition, increases the capacity and function of our brains, and benefits our emotional stability and wellbeing. Attitude also plays a huge part in how each of us ages.

 

Courses list (each subject accounts for 3 credits):

This module is applicable to Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. (Doctor) Programs. This distance learning degree program is designed at the postgraduate level – Master’s or Doctoral. This module may be easily adapted to complete the Specialist, Expert or Bachelor’s adult degree program requirements. A further option is the enrollment into the online university courses listed in this module.

* University Course (3 credits): Select 1 subject from this module.

* Specialist Diploma (15 credits): First 5 subjects or select 5 subjects from this module.

* Expert Diploma (21 credits): First 7 subjects or select 7 subjects from this module.

* Bachelor's Degree (130 credits): The Admission certificate issued after submission of the application for admission will show the amount of credit transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete this undergraduate program's major. Additional courses from other modules of this faculty will be assigned in case that the credits displayed on this module are not enough to complete the bachelor's required credits.

* Master's Degree (35 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 13 credits corresponding to a final project to the selected subjects.

* Ph.D. (Doctor) (45 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 18 credits corresponding to a final thesis to the selected subjects.

BIU issues an admission certificate after receiving your complete application for admission. This document will show the amount of credits transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete the degree program's major. BIU can not perform this evaluation without the complete application for admission.

Physical Activity & Wellness

This course explores the influence of physical activity as an essential stimulus for the development of the social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and biological principles of health. It explains how to design a healthy active program that promotes fitness, proper nutrition, and wellness.

Principles of Yoga

This course introduces the art and science of yoga. It explores its history and philosophy, current issues and trends, and the health benefits of yoga. It examines the cultural aspects of yoga, and its relevancy to modern day life and health.

Holistic Nutrition

This course explores the role of nutrition for a healthy mind, body and spirit, the role of diet in disease prevention and wellness, the interdependence between eating choices and environmental sustainability, and the principles and practical uses of various alternative nutritional approaches. It also explains how to differentiate whole food supplements versus synthetic supplements.

Ayurveda - Science of Life

This course studies the role of philosophy in Ayurveda and how to distinguish different aspects of consciousness, health and wellness from an Ayurvedic perspective. It explains the different constitutional types, basic physiological functions, the role of ayurvedic nutrition in health and how to apply the concept of Agni in the context of digestion and metabolism for health maintenance. The history of Ayurveda is viewed in relation to the Vedas and its philosophy (Vedanta). This course shows how to promote healing and rejuvenation.

Natural Beauty

This course presents both ancient and modern secrets for beauty care using natural products. The aim is to elevate our understanding of beauty and cosmetics, to learn how to look and feel beautiful, and without spending a fortune.

Therapeutic Exercise

This course reviews exercise as a preventive and therapeutic tool. It shows the physiological benefits of exercise in the correction of postural and structural body imbalances, the value of stretching, deep breathing, yoga, aerobic and non-aerobic activities. It also explains how to alleviate structural and physiological imbalances as well as maintaining optimum health.

The Search for Meaning

This course will focus on the relationship between problems and the meaning each individual sees in life. Distinctions are made between philosophy and spirituality. It deals with the stages of psychological and spiritual development for the individual and the methods for evoking meaning and purpose in life.

Colon Therapy

This course presents the significance of colon hygiene in health recovery and organic aspects such as absorption and assimilation of nutrients, cleansing procedures and detoxification, colon hydrotherapy, parasites and other related pathological disorders. It details the therapeutic programs designed to enhance or alleviate these situations.

Vitamins & Minerals

This course examines biologically essential minerals and vitamins and their absorption, transport, function, storage, excretion, imbalance, deficiency and toxicity. It considers the dietary sources and role of minerals and vitamins in health, and the role of modern food technology on the availability of these nutrients in our food supply.

Nutrition in Aging

This course examines the interactions of nourishment with behavior, growth, and development of human populations and individuals, from infancy through the middle and later years. It considers the physiological, psychological, social, cultural, and economic factors affecting nutrition in aging, and the evaluation problems and strategies for health interventions.

Emotional Intelligence

This course delineates the five crucial skills of emotional intelligence, and shows how they determine our success in relationships, work, and even our physical well-being. What emerges is an entirely new way to talk about being smart. It explains why empathy, self-awareness, and self- discipline is essential to success and positive human interaction. It provides an effective tool that can make our schedules, behaviors, and relationships more manageable.

Anti-Aging Therapy

This course shows the medical advancements, preventative care, and information about antiaging techniques that add years to our personal life expectancy. It explains the benefits of exercise, the importance of maintaining and increasing brain activity and the vital needs of the body for water, vitamins and minerals. It explores ancient antiaging remedies, the importance of hormones, antioxidants, and the truth about many cosmetic ingredients.

Wellness & Health

This course focuses on a holistic approach to wellness and health management. It shows how to assess our current wellness status and how to make improvements where necessary. Topics include physical activity, nutrition, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, sexuality, and spiritual wellness.

Spiritual Wellness

This course analyses the distinctions between religion, theology and spirituality. It considers the stages of spiritual development for the individual and the relationship between spirituality and health from the perspective of the world religions. It evaluates the effectiveness of spiritual practices for wellness and the ways to address issues of spirituality in the lives of people.
