Faculty of Engineering & Technology

Technology is in permanent evolution. There are flexible approaches inside the engineering and technology fields that can be properly studied with BIU online university courses. There are usually no impediments for the professional practice of these disciplines at medium level technical posts, at managerial positions, or from a vocational point of view. Distance learning higher education is not the best option for research or high technology engineering positions that usually require traditionally accredited qualifications. A BIU online diploma cannot offer signing capacity in engineering, architecture or scientific projects. Admission into these programs is restricted and limited to qualified candidates with demonstrated theoretical and technical knowledge in their fields of study due to the fact that many of the credits required in technology and engineering specializations cannot be provided effectively through distance learning higher education. A BIU online university degree constitutes an effective way to complement a traditional technological background with innovative approaches and further specialization.

Doctorate (Doctor Ph.D. Degree)

The online Doctorate program offers students the highest level of specialization in any discipline. Students acquire highly specialized knowledge and full command of specific skills that they will develop, argue and defend in their culminating work: the Doctoral thesis. The main requirement of the online doctorate consists in submitting and discussing a 70 page thesis paper for review and evaluation by a BIU academic committee. In some cases, previously published material can be counted towards the Ph.D. degree in substitution of a the doctoral research work. Several 20 to 35 pages reports based on textbooks may also be required to complete the required online doctorate credits. Duration depends on the amount of research and work that students will devote to the completion of their doctoral thesis. The Ph.D. thesis must be defended in front of a minimum of three members of the BIU Academic Network. The BIU office will set up the thesis discussion schedule with both the student and the BIU academic committee. Occasionally and upon request this discussion may be established through the Internet or phone and on one to one basis with each of the members of the BIU academic committee.
