At BIU you may enroll at independent online university courses and subjects, each with an academic weight of 3 BIU credits or 4.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). These courses are also recognized by the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) from Washington DC, USA. BIU is an IACET-CEUs Authorized Provider. CEUs issued by BIU-IACET are widely accepted and recognized by many higher education institutions worldwide.

• Online University Courses Fee:

Course fee does not include textbook and shipping. Course fee includes: study guide, evaluation, tutoring and certificate of course completion and earned BIU credits and IACET CEUs.

• How to select the online university course that best fits your goals?

Select the university specialization module that is closest to your interests. Each Faculty offers a selection ranging from 10 to 30 specialization modules. Each module provides a list of its courses / subjects. Review these lists and choose the subject or course that best fits your goals.

• How to enroll in a course?

You may enroll at any time along the year and from anywhere in the world. You have to fill out page 1 of the application for admission. You must also fill out the payment form. • How will the online university courses start?

Once you submit your application, BIU will proceed to charge the corresponding course fee (+ textbook fee) according to the payment plan you selected. You may choose to buy the textbook on your own, then you will not be charged the textbook fee. Once the payment is confirmed, BIU will notify your admission into the course and will send a receipt of the charged amount. At the same time BIU will order the corresponding course textbook. You will be required to write a report on the assigned textbook. The shipping of the ordered textbook may take from one to three weeks. Then you will receive the textbook at home with the instructions to complete the course requirements.

• How is the process of studying this online university course?

You will be required to write a 10 to 15 pages report on the assigned course textbook. The BIU Study Guide used for distance education university degree programs is perfectly applicable to the process of studying your course. The pedagogical method, the evaluation process, tutoring and other advices are valid and useful to instruct you about the learning process of the course. There are only two differences:

1. One text per course. The course assigns only one text or even a part of the text as the study material from which a report must be extracted. Specific information about the requirement will be provided through the Academic Assignment Control Form (AAC Form).
2. A 10 to 15 pages report. The required report format is less than the usual report required for the degree programs. The instructions provided by the study guide are applicable to the writing of the course report with the following considerations: Report length will be a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 15 pages. Presentation and cover are described in the study guide. Table of contents should be fit in one page. The remaining pages will be devoted to the actual content of the reports on in other words, your summary and conclusions. Upon request and previous authorization, the report may be focused on a very specific part of the assigned textbook or in the exposition of a case study.

• How to complete the online university course?

Once you have finished the required report you must send it by email on PDF format or by mail. Your work will take three weeks to go through the correction process described in the study guide. Once the evaluation of your work has been concluded there will be two options:

1. Failed: BIU will inform you of the reasons why your work failed and will indicate those aspects that require improvement. You will be asked to rewrite your report considering these indication and submit it again. BIU will accept the submission of your report up to three times. If after the third submission your report has not reached the minimum passing grade, the course will be finally failed and BIU will not certify any credits.
2. Approved: BIU will proceed to issue the certificate of earned BIU credits and IACET CEUs. The certificate is sealed by BIU and IACET - International Association for Continuing Education & Training. The process of certificate production takes around three weeks. Consequently you should expect a 7 weeks delay from the moment you submit your report until the moment you receive your certificate of course completion and earned credits.

• How long does it take to do a course?

The average esteemed duration fro the completion of a course ranges from one to three months from the moment you get the textbook at home. BIU establishes a maximum term of 12 months for course completion starting on the date of the application for course enrollment. In case no work has been submitted after 12 months, BIU will consider your withdrawal from the course.

• What if I want to cancel the course?

BIU adult degree programs refund policy is not applicable to the online university courses. All other student rights and obligations are applicable. The course cancellation and refund policy is the following: You must notify in writing your request to cancel the course to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by mail. BIU will refund the 70% of the course fee if the cancellation request is received within the 30 days following the shipment of the course textbook. The textbook must be returned in perfect conditions with the cancellation request, otherwise the cost of the textbook will be automatically discounted from the refund due. After the 30 days refund term, there are no more refunds.
