MODULE: Educational Administration

Program delivered by distance learning higher education up to a maximum of 30 credits. This module may be combined or completed with other online university courses from this faculty.

DESCRIPTION:

This program is designed to equip teachers and educational administrators with skills in decision-making, leadership, human resource management, teacher evaluation, organization, and public relations to face the issues and dilemmas that affect many educational systems. The program also discusses about culture, diversity and change, curriculum, effective teaching strategies, and supervision of instruction.

This module is applicable to Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. (Doctor) Programs. This distance learning degree program is designed at the postgraduate level – Master’s or Doctoral. This module may be easily adapted to complete the Specialist, Expert or Bachelor’s adult degree program requirements. A further option is the enrollment into the online university courses listed in this module.

* University Course (3 credits): Select 1 subject from this module.

* Specialist Diploma (15 credits): First 5 subjects or select 5 subjects from this module.

* Expert Diploma (21 credits): First 7 subjects or select 7 subjects from this module.

* Bachelor's Degree (130 credits): The Admission certificate issued after submission of the application for admission will show the amount of credit transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete this undergraduate program's major. Additional courses from other modules of this faculty will be assigned in case that the credits displayed on this module are not enough to complete the bachelor's required credits.

* Master's Degree (35 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 13 credits corresponding to a final project to the selected subjects.

* Ph.D. (Doctor) (45 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 18 credits corresponding to a final thesis to the selected subjects.

BIU issues an admission certificate after receiving your complete application for admission. This document will show the amount of credits transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete the degree program's major. BIU can not perform this evaluation without the complete application for admission.

Academic Affairs

This course explains the nature of academic affairs, the roles of administrators, the coordination between administrative division and academic affairs division, the administration and development of curriculum, the development of instruction and academic projects in schools, and the evaluation of such projects.

Student Activities

This course clarifies the mission of student activities and student activity projects. It explains different kinds of student activities in various school levels, the role of student activity counselors and supervisors, and the evaluation of student activities. It also considers school and community relations, and the utilization of local and public resources for educational development.

Training Programs

This course shows how to develop successful training programs which reinforce the company’s mission and goals. It examines the design, operation, and evaluation of training and development activities. It also reviews the influence and effect of training in organizations.

Educational Budget & Finance

This course deals with the business side of school administration. It considers school office management, school budgeting, buildings maintenance, and operating school services. It reviews budgeting and accounting policies for education, financial management in educational institutions, and profits.

Educational Planning

This course deals with educational planning theories for government, private and other type of educational institutions, and the analysis and simulation of educational plans. It covers the relationship between educational planning and public economic and social planning. It considers several administrative strategies and styles for the administration and supervision of educational plans.

Multilingual Children

This course discusses how to support children’s native languages as they transition into the acquisition of a second language. It explores the role of culture, home and classroom contexts in the acquisition and development of language. It examines home, school and community connections to multilingual children education.

This course shows the know-how required in the operation and management of an early care and education program. It deals with organizational management, financial, legal and ethical issues, establishing operational systems, and programming for children and families.

This course shows the theories and principles of educational administration, educational administrative process, management and development of the organization, leadership and human relations in education, and administration practice in different educational systems.

Educational Law & Ethics

This course examines educational law, codes and regulations. It deals with educational principles and ethics, educational quality, accreditation and recognition. It considers philosophy, aims, and policies in education, and the roles of education in economic and social development.

Management Information Systems

This course analyzes information systems and their role in organizations. It focuses on the management of information resources for optimum performance. It reviews hardware, software, data storage, and telecommunication technologies, and considers the issues of emerging technologies, social and ethical concerns, security and control. It explains the best use of computers to minimize cost and optimize results.
