DESCRIPTION:
This program focuses on the administration and management issues related to corporate security functions and planning, risk management, contract security services, management of emergencies and loss prevention. Additionally it prepares the student to make decisions and coordinate all aspects necessary for preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery for any possible emergency or disaster. It also addresses the security manager's role in personnel management and organizational communication.

This module is applicable to Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. (Doctor) Programs. This distance learning degree program is designed at the postgraduate level – Master’s or Doctoral. This module may be easily adapted to complete the Specialist, Expert or Bachelor’s adult degree program requirements. A further option is the enrollment into the online university courses listed in this module.
* University Course (3 credits): Select 1 subject from this module.
* Specialist Diploma (15 credits): First 5 subjects or select 5 subjects from this module.
* Expert Diploma (21 credits): First 7 subjects or select 7 subjects from this module.
* Bachelor's Degree (130 credits): The Admission certificate issued after submission of the application for admission will show the amount of credit transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete this undergraduate program's major. Additional courses from other modules of this faculty will be assigned in case that the credits displayed on this module are not enough to complete the bachelor's required credits.
* Master's Degree (35 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 13 credits corresponding to a final project to the selected subjects.
* Ph.D. (Doctor) (45 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 18 credits corresponding to a final thesis to the selected subjects.
BIU issues an admission certificate after receiving your complete application for admission. This document will show the amount of credits transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete the degree program's major. BIU can not perform this evaluation without the complete application for admission.

Security Programs
This course provides a comparative analysis of relevant security programs in the public and private sectors. The concept of defensible space, internal and external access control and psychological security barriers are examined and evaluated. It provides a detailed history of protective services and their evolution.

Security Risk Analysis
This course provides an in-depth examination of risk analysis, security threats, countermeasures, the security planning process, security audits and associated analytical tools. Managers require an understanding of the nature of the hazards, risks and losses and the incident management measures to be implemented as a consequence.

Industrial Protection & Espionage
This course provides a framework for understanding industrial or economic espionage. Inquires into technological and management approaches to prevention and detection. Reviews current theories on cyberterrorism, and explores the range of responses which organizations may use. The purpose of the course is to teach how to understand and neutralize serious threats to business and its government. It also examines a broad range of computer security issues and computer crime prevention.

Security Management
This course reviews the issues in business and organizational security management. It examines the challenges embodied in various aspects of physical, personnel, and information security. Loss prevention and the protection of assets are also considered. It explores the history, legal foundations, functions, operations, processes, and tools of security management and computer security.

Crisis & Emergency Management
This course provides the practical measures for the development of a preparedness, response and recovery capability during crisis or emergency. It considers environmental and infrastructure factors that influence operations, managing resources, working with operational information, operational leadership, planning for response and recovery, and emergency coordination center operations. This course has been designed around two themes: effective emergency management and personal effectiveness.

Evacuation & Risk Management
This course considers the emergency risk management process, communication and consultation principles, exploring risk, facilitation, public speaking, working with groups, working with communities, and continuous improvement. Evacuation management is a complex process involving crucial decision making, various phases and a multiplicity of management issues to enable the implementation of evacuation as an intervention strategy.

Crisis Recovery Center
This course examines the coordinated process of supporting disaster affected communities in the reconstruction of the physical infrastructure and restoration of emotional, social, economic and physical well-being. Emergency coordination centers provide a focus for the management of information, resources and the strategic coordination of activities to meet community and organizational needs in emergency events.
