MODULE: Sexology
Program delivered by distance learning higher education up to a maximum of 21 credits. This module may be combined or completed with other online university courses from this faculty.
DESCRIPTION:
This program provides a comprehensive view of human sexuality and of the sexual attitude restructuring process. Following a tradition of sensitivity, currency, and candor, it covers all major topics of sexology, including sexual health and therapy issues: sexual communication, fantasy, masturbation, homosexuality, bisexuality, female and male sexuality, sexual enrichment and pleasure. It explores a variety of sexual behaviors; the treatment possibilities for sexual dysfunction; the need to protect ourselves from sexually transmitted diseases; how our sexual satisfaction can improve with age even as the body changes; how we help those who have been victimized by sexual attack, etc.

This module is applicable to Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. (Doctor) Programs. This distance learning degree program is designed at the postgraduate level – Master’s or Doctoral. This module may be easily adapted to complete the Specialist, Expert or Bachelor’s adult degree program requirements. A further option is the enrollment into the online university courses listed in this module.
* University Course (3 credits): Select 1 subject from this module.
* Specialist Diploma (15 credits): First 5 subjects or select 5 subjects from this module.
* Expert Diploma (21 credits): First 7 subjects or select 7 subjects from this module.
* Bachelor's Degree (130 credits): The Admission certificate issued after submission of the application for admission will show the amount of credit transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete this undergraduate program's major. Additional courses from other modules of this faculty will be assigned in case that the credits displayed on this module are not enough to complete the bachelor's required credits.
* Master's Degree (35 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 13 credits corresponding to a final project to the selected subjects.
* Ph.D. (Doctor) (45 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 18 credits corresponding to a final thesis to the selected subjects.
BIU issues an admission certificate after receiving your complete application for admission. This document will show the amount of credits transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete the degree program's major. BIU can not perform this evaluation without the complete application for admission.

Human Sexuality
This course presents a comprehensive view of human sexuality and to the sexual attitude restructuring process, covering endorsement, communication, fantasy, masturbation, homosexuality, bisexuality, desensitization and resensitization, female and male sexuality, sexual enrichment, special problems, therapy and cultural expression. It looks at the ways that sex is shaped by culture from tribal to industrial societies.

Sexual Behavior
This course examines the development and expression of sexual behavior as a complex psychological, socio-cultural, biological, and historical phenomenon. It includes research methods in human sexuality; biological bases of sexual behavior; sexual arousal and response; gender identity and gender roles; attraction and love; sexual orientation; sexuality across the life cycle; sexual dysfunctions and sex therapy; safer sex and STD prevention; atypical sexual variations; and sexual coercion and abuse and their treatment.

Sexual Attitude Restructuring
This course presents an educational and experiential program for sex educators, therapists, counselors. Sexual attitude restructuring focuses on new methodologies including the use of media, massage, psychodrama, exercises, fantasy, personal development, body awareness, communication skills. It explains why the sexual attitude restructuring process works, and how to run a sex workshop.

Sexology / Sex Therapy
This course includes a survey of historic methods of sex therapy, and an extensive examination of current sex therapy methods and procedures. It compares different philosophies of sex therapy, how they were developed, the rationale for their use, implementation strategies, and assessment of effectiveness in order to provide an eclectic approach to sex therapy.

Marriage & Family Relations
This course examines the impact of modern society upon the family as it relates to courtship, size of family, member relationships, economic problems, and marital stability. It compares alternative life styles, marriage and family relations throughout the life span. It examines family development across generations.

Senses Awareness & Development
This course examines the connection of your senses with your body and mind to develop self-awareness. It deals with different techniques to perceive and direct your internal focus to acquire more control of the body and the flow of energy through it. It describes how to develop your senses to enhance perception and become a better therapist.

Sexual Pleasure Education
This course presents strategies for a better sex life, sex aids, sexual approaches, male and female pleasuring. It stresses the value of various body work techniques for persons intending to work in the field of sex therapy and counseling. It also includes a sexological exploration of objects which have been created in response to sexual desire and experience.
