This course explains how visual arts have been influenced by, and how they have influenced, interacted with, defined, and been defined by other media, arts, technology and cultural trends. It examines how visual arts have moved from a marginal to a mainstream art form. It explores the nature of visual perception in everyday life and how the elements of visual imagery may combine to deliver a persuasive message.

Decorative Elements
This course describes suitable furniture for specific spaces. It covers construction details such as walls and floors, stairs, fireplaces, lighting, kitchen distribution, and woodwork. It also deals with decorative elements such the use of plants in interiors, audiovisual systems, security, color theory, window treatments, elevators, indoors sports areas, etc. It explains lighting principles and technologies and the appropriate selection of lighting effects.

Art & Philosophy
This course deals with the natural, moral, and ethical ideas expressed in art. It provides an understanding of the ideological contexts within which modern and historical artists work, and the means by which art is interpreted. The course focuses in the ideas expressed through the visual, musical, and performing arts.

Contemporary Art
This course explores Contemporary Art, painting, sculpture, and architecture, and the multiplication and development of new forms of art: video, performance pieces, land and installation pieces, fashion, and design. It also deals with the major issues in Contemporary art criticism.

This course explores art history from the earliest cave paintings to contemporary experimental art. Art History covers the Western tradition and the cultures of the Middle East, South Asia, East Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands, and the Americas.

This course presents the principles of creativity. It examines the process of idea generation using different techniques such as association, brainstorming, sense connecting, closures, opposites, verbal plays, clocks and calendars, personalization's and so on. Artistic Design
This course is a philosophical examination of artistic creation and design. It discusses the impact of art on everyday life, and evaluates different design styles, approaches, and interpretations. It also addresses the problems encountered by design artists including the idea of talent, the artist's personality, and creative blocks, and shows creative tools and inspirational resources for the artistic designer.

This course is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills necessary to qualify in the multimedia and graphic design profession. METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: Distance Learning Higher Education

 

This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma. For a program of 21 credits, the estimated time for completion is 21 weeks. For 45 credits, the estimated time for completion will be 45 weeks, and so on. Calculations are approximate. The length of each distance learning degree program is calculated based on an average of 15 hours of learning per week.
