This Bachelor's Degree discusses the scientific principles underlying the toxic actions of various substances and introduces the numerous challenges of toxicology. It introduces topics such as the chemical nature of injurious substances, their uptake and metabolism, their mode of action, as well as the methods used in safety evaluations and risk assessment. The program also combines the biogeochemical cycles of toxins and their interactions with biological systems to improve the assessment of toxins' complex effect at the molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecosystem levels.

Bircham International University distance learning degree admission requirements differ depending upon the Faculty and the major of study. There is no discrimination with respect to race, color, sex, beliefs and/or religion. A minimum of 30% of the total number of credits required by any adult degree program syllabus has to be transferred from previous education and/or validated from professional experience in order to gain admission.
