The student has the right to cancel registration and receive the corresponding refund according to the BIU refund policy. Cancellation is effective on the date written notice of the cancellation was mailed. This distance education university shall make the refund within 30 days of cancellation. BIU considers the program start date the day that the student receives any study material. Study material may be one or combination of the following: Academic Assignment Control form (AAC form) and all or part of the textbooks assigned in the AAC form. The cancellation notice must be sent in writing dated and signed to the director of BIU at the BIU office address.
Submitting forged documentation or including false information in the curriculum vitae will result in the immediate dismissal of the student and the loss of all registration, student and refund rights acquired in this distance learning university. In the event a BIU payment plan is not met for three months, all student and refund rights, courses and payments will be lost. The online university degree will not be awarded until all tuition due is paid.
- LICENSURE & ACADEMIC TRANSFER:
BIU distance learning degrees do not guarantee licensure and acceptance of credits at other institutions. BIU graduates may face restrictions in obtaining a teaching job or appointment at an accredited college or university or governmental positions that require a degree officially recognized by the Ministry of Education or accreditted by the US Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Online university courses and credits earned at BIU may not be transferable to another college or university. Acceptance is always the prerogative of the receiving institution, employeer or organization.
- REFUND POLICY:
- Admission Fee: €$200 is required for Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate programs. The admission fee is not refundable, but if the applicant is denied admission, BIU will refund the admission fee.
- Tuition Fee is refundable according to the following refund policy:
A. Full Tuition Refund - 10 Days written notice:
- A $100 Application fee will be deducted from the tuition fee paid.
- The cost of the textbooks sent to the student will be deducted from the tuition fee paid (if applicable).
- At this point, no academic progress has been made toward program completion.
B. Partial Tuition Refund - 10 to 90 days written notice:
- A $100 Application fee will be deducted from the tuition fee paid.
- The cost of the textbooks sent to the student will be deducted from the tuition fee paid (if applicable).
- 20% of the total tuition for the degree program will be deducted from the tuition refund.
- A $ 300 Evaluation Fee will be deducted for each academic work submitted by the student.
- The student has the right to receive the results of the evaluation of any work submitted.
- 10 to 30% average estimation of academic progress has been made toward program completion.
C. Partial Tuition Refund - 3 to 12 months written notice:
- A $100 Application fee will be deducted from the tuition fee paid.
- The cost of the textbooks sent to the student will be deducted from the tuition fee paid (if applicable).
- 50% of the total tuition for the degree program will be deducted from the tuition refund.
- A $ 300 Evaluation Fee will be deducted for each academic work submitted by the student.
- The student has the right to receive the results of the evaluation of the work submitted.
- 30 to 70% average estimation of academic progress has been made toward program completion.
D. No Tuition Refund after 12 months from the date the student received study material or after completion and submission to the Delegation of all the required academic work (reports, projects, thesis) despite the time frame from the starting date.
Bircham International University keeps a database with your personal data registered with the AEPD (Spain Data Protection Agency) according to the Article 5 of the Privacy Act Law 15/1999. Any change or deletion of this data should be communicated to your BIU Office. Bircham International University implements control measures to ensure the security and privacy of all its electronic correspondence.
