This Master's Degree deals with the understanding of death and how it affects individuals. Thanatology does not include palliative care, the medical treatment for dying individuals, or forensic studies. It focuses on grief and bereavement issues, counseling, and the religious concepts of dying and death from the perspective of both the dying and bereaved.

A minimum of 30% of the total number of credits required by any adult degree program syllabus has to be transferred from previous education and/or validated from professional experience in order to gain admission.
