METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: Distance Learning Higher Education

 

This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma. Students enrolling into this distance education program should be aware that:
1. Location: Bircham International University needs a functional geographical location to ship the book and materials for successful completion of this program of study.
2. Communication: Email, courier, phone are key communication instruments with Bircham University that play an important role in the progress and support of this program of study.
3. Capacity: Any impediment, physical or psychological, to read a book and write a report must be communicated to Bircham International University prior to enrollment into this distance learning program.

Duration - Bioenergetic Therapy Online via distance learning

For a program of 21 credits, the estimated time for completion is 21 weeks. For 45 credits, the estimated time for completion will be 45 weeks, and so on. Calculations are approximate. The length of each distance learning degree program is calculated based on an average of 15 hours of learning per week. It also depends on the number of validated credits from previous knowledge and the level of commitment to the studies.

This course explores the commonality between conventional physical wellness and good health. It explains how multidimensional wellness and nontraditional bioenergetics therapies play a role in our mental, emotional, and physical health. It discuses the relationship between health and the meaning of life.

Movement & Meditation
This course analyzes the role of movement in our lives through an exploration of the relationship between the energy of motion, the body, and the emotions. It describes several methods of meditation and concentration and focuses on their physiological and psychotherapeutical effects. It relates breathing, chanting, movement, and meditation in various traditions.

Healing Practices & Rituals
This course explores the major traditions of spiritual practices and rituals and their effective healing experience. It examines the relationship between these practices and their effects on the body, mind, and spirit. It studies the effects of various stress management practices on emotional status and disease improvement namely meditation, guided imagery, dance, and movement.

Senses Awareness & Development
This course examines the connection between the senses, the body, and the mind that lead to the development of self-awareness. It investigates various techniques that allow the perception of internal forces and their direction to acquire more body control and internal energy flow. It describes how to develop personal senses to enhance self-perception and become a better therapist.

Psychosomatic Connection
This course describes an interconnection between the mind-body-spirit that transcends the traditional body-mind concept. It suggests a new body-mind interdependent relationship. It explores how the psychosomatic interpretations of physical symptoms can relate to mental disorders and vice versa and how these interpretations play a role in our mental, emotional, and physical health.

E-Motion Therapy
Life is an expression of energy in motion (E-Motion). Energy emerges from a source and constantly returns to it. This course discusses the principles and philosophies that underlie that flow of energy. It reviews some the theories and techniques used to channel the energy into motion particularly the Polarity therapy, Ayurveda, Chinese Traditional Medicine, and Reiki.

This course discusses how to develop the body's own sensitivity to release its blocked energy, allow it to complete its energetic cycles of emotion, and achieve balance. This course introduces the principles and practices of Qi (internal energy) energy development. It provides an effective tool that can make our schedules, behaviors, and relationships more manageable.

This course presents various bioenergetic approaches and explores their influence on health. The first part uses the western medicine perspective to discuss the relationship between energy and medical care. This course explores the various forms of bioenergetic therapy used to intervene, through pre-established energy patterns, in the subtle anatomy and physiology of humans. It covers the following: spirituality as opposed to religion, acupressure, homeopathic remedies, polarity therapy, respiration, chakras, auras, Bach flowers, channeling, chi as expressed in body movement, crystals, and "healing" vs. medical curing.
