MODULE: Natural Beauty & Cosmetics

Program delivered by distance learning higher education up to a maximum of 21 credits. This module may be combined or completed with other online university courses from this faculty.

DESCRIPTION:

This program presents both ancient and modern secrets for beauty care using natural products. The aim is to elevate our understanding of beauty and cosmetics, to learn how to look and feel beautiful, and without spending a fortune. It includes information on available natural products for everything from shampoo and mouthwash to face masks and lip gloss, including: cleaners and scrubs, creams and lotions, massage oils and hair-care products.

 

Courses list (each subject accounts for 3 credits):

1 BIU Earned Credit = 1 USA Semester Credit (15 hours of learning) = 2 ECTS Credit (30 hours of study).

This module is applicable to Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. (Doctor) Programs. This distance learning degree program is designed at the postgraduate level – Master’s or Doctoral. This module may be easily adapted to complete the Specialist, Expert or Bachelor’s adult degree program requirements. A further option is the enrollment into the online university courses listed in this module.

* University Course (3 credits): Select 1 subject from this module.

* Specialist Diploma (15 credits): First 5 subjects or select 5 subjects from this module.

* Expert Diploma (21 credits): First 7 subjects or select 7 subjects from this module.

* Bachelor's Degree (130 credits): The Admission certificate issued after submission of the application for admission will show the amount of credit transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete this undergraduate program's major. Additional courses from other modules of this faculty will be assigned in case that the credits displayed on this module are not enough to complete the bachelor's required credits.

* Master's Degree (35 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 13 credits corresponding to a final project to the selected subjects.

* Ph.D. (Doctor) (45 credits): Select from 3 to 9 subjects from this module depending on the amount of credits transferred from previous education and experience. Add 18 credits corresponding to a final thesis to the selected subjects.

BIU issues an admission certificate after receiving your complete application for admission. This document will show the amount of credits transferred and validated from previous education and experience, and the amount of credits required to complete the degree program's major. BIU can not perform this evaluation without the complete application for admission.

Natural Beauty

This course presents both ancient and modern secrets for beauty care using natural products. The aim is to elevate our understanding of beauty and cosmetics, to learn how to look and feel beautiful, and without spending a fortune.

Natural Cosmetology

This course provides a background into the chemical theories, processes and natural product ingredients found in the practice of natural beauty treatments. It places special emphasis on chemical hazard information of artificial products and the operation and functions of devices used in beauty salons.

Essential Oils

This course covers the history and uses of volatile plant oils, externally and internally, for preventive health care, healing, beauty and relaxation. Essential oils, extracted from the roots, flowers, leaves, and stalks of plants as well as from certain trees, release their specific aromatic scents acting on the hypothalamus of human brain and affecting our physical and mental condition.

Natural Perfumes

This course explains the uses of essential oils in cosmetology to create natural perfumes for skin care, and also how to mix aromatic oils and natural cosmetic products without harsh chemical ingredients for the use in natural beauty treatments.

Anti-Aging Therapy

This course shows the medical advancements, preventative care, and information about antiaging techniques that add years to our personal life expectancy. It explains the benefits of exercise, the importance of maintaining and increasing brain activity and the vital needs of the body for water, vitamins and minerals. It explores ancient antiaging remedies, the importance of hormones, antioxidants, and the truth about many cosmetic ingredients.

Natural Facial Treatments

This course explains the skills and knowledge required to perform facial treatments which combine a range of techniques and natural products depending on skin problems and requirements. It shows safe and effective techniques to achieve a natural face lift based on facial massage and acupressure.

Natural Beauty Treatments

This course shows several beauty treatments such as facial treatments, exfoliation, masks and wraps as well as the more traditional treatments such as manicures, pedicures and waxing. The benefit of this type of beauty treatments is essentially for the face, although, because it promotes vital energy flow, it has the effect of creating a feeling of rejuvenation of the whole body.
