This course provides a study of the architecture, utilities, services, and protocols of the Internet and World Wide Web. Topics cover markup languages (e.g. HTML), data location resources (e.g. search engines and agents), web page management, scripting languages, TCP/IP, IP routing and servers, reliability, security, electronic commerce, and virtual worlds.

This course covers the main concepts and components of data communications particularly modern communication standards, protocol systems and their implementation, and transmission technology. It also examines the principles of complex networks: Open System Interconnection (OSI), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Local Area Networks (LANs).

This course shows how to administer a network, setup a server for a network and an Internet environment, design and implement cabling for a network, solve troubleshoot network security problems related to e-commerce. Also, it demonstrates how to use networking protocols, TCP/IP architecture, and security essentials to include authentication, encryption, and firewalls.

Cyberspace Law
This course focuses on the legal issues confronting the participants in Cyberspace. Whether considered as a Virtual Space, the Internet, or simply the Web, Cyberspace embodies a challenging interaction of law, public policy, technology, and market. In the context of cyber culture and technology, this course examines the key contemporary procedural and issues including jurisdiction, governmental regulation of pornography and indecency, privacy, intellectual property, and evolving Internet commerce. It also focuses on the investigation and prosecution of computer crimes.

Security Risk Analysis
This course provides an in-depth examination of risk analysis, security threats, countermeasures, the security planning process, security audits, and associated analytical tools. Managers require an understanding of the nature of the hazards, risks, losses and the incident management measures to be consequently implemented.

Deep Web
This course of the deep web explains the invisible web made of contents that are not indexed by standard web search-engines. The content of the deep web can be located and accessed by a direct URL or IP address. The dark web is only a small fraction of the deep web, which require specific software, configurations, or authorization to access, and it is often, but not necessarily, used for illegal activities.

Digital Privacy
This course of digital privacy examines the rights of individuals to determine how their digital information is collected and used, to exist freely on the internet, and to choose what types of information they are exposed to. In this context, communication privacy states the right to communicate information digitally with the expectation that those communications are secure and only accessible to the sender's original intended recipient. Digital Privacy encompasses information privacy, communication privacy, and individual privacy.

This course examines ordinary, single user, point-to-point communication systems and their juxtaposition to those involved in multi-user systems, satellite systems, radio networks, and computer networks. It presents architectures and protocols for telecommunication networks.

This course covers the principles of various methods of online payment transfer and compares their functionality. Topics include electronic money, electronic contracts, micro-payments, authenticity, integrity and reliability of transactions, the encryption and digital signature techniques needed to support electronic cash, and the technologies available to support secure transactions on the Internet.

This course reviews online business and economy environment and strategies. It provides solutions for the online purchasing and selling of different products and services. Industrial Protection & Espionage
This course provides a framework for understanding industrial and/or economic espionage and inquires into technological and management approaches to their prevention and detection. It reviews current theories on cyberterrorism and explores the range of responses which organizations may use. The purpose of the course is to teach how to understand and neutralize serious threats to business and its government. It also examines a broad range of computer security issues and computer crime prevention.

This course of cyber security studies the options to protect the integrity of a computer’s internet-connected systems, hardware, software and data from cyber-attacks. This course explores data communication security techniques and data encryption. It presents encryption, the security of cryptosystems, the authentication of people and systems, signature schemes, access controls, and message integrity. This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma.
