It examines the Western system and the relationships influencing Western trade; the North South system; the East West system with emphasis on trading policies; as well as the new global economic order, its role, and its consequences in international political economy.

This course presents the properties that govern the use of soil for plant growth and construction engineering purposes. It emphasizes on sustainable use and conservation. It identifies soil resources for human needs and the management of soil landscape data to ameliorate the environmental impact of human activities.

This course studies the science of climate change and the latest available research and scientific data: new patterns of rainfall, droughts, weather events, and global warming. This course examines the role and importance of nonprofit non-governmental or global organizations in the development and support of social needs. This course surveys the dominant theories of economic development and the meaning of "development vs. growth." It discusses the major characteristics of developing nations and the key constraints and variables of economic and political development: population growth, unemployment, urbanization, migration, agricultural and rural development, education, industrialization, and trade.

International Health Systems
This course interprets health problems among various populations in multicultural settings. It compares health care systems in developing and industrialized countries in relation to other social systems; public/private component analyses; and health care methods and finance. Natural Resource Economics
This course deals with the economic principles and policy issues in the use of exhaustible and renewable resources including fossil fuels, water, minerals, fisheries, forests, and biodiversity. International Conflict Resolution
This course investigates the origins and the theories of conflict and war and their prevention. It analyses the relationship between foreign policy, national security, attainment of political objectives, conflict and violence, and the political economy of war. This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma. For a program of 21 credits, the estimated time for completion is 21 weeks. For 45 credits, the estimated time for completion will be 45 weeks, and so on. Calculations are approximate.
