This distance learning education program is completed by a traditional correspondence instruction method. Once you sign up for the course, Bircham International University will send you (to your mailing address) the suggested textbooks. After reading the book, you will be asked to write a 20 to 35 pages report that reflect your understanding of the book. This report is equivalent to the exam and can be submitted by email or mail. Bircham International University will evaluate your written work. If passed, BIU will issue the corresponding diploma. Duration - Econometrics Online via distance learning

For a program of 21 credits, the estimated time for completion is 21 weeks. For 45 credits, the estimated time for completion will be 45 weeks, and so on. Calculations are approximate. The length of each distance learning degree program is calculated based on an average of 15 hours of learning per week. It also depends on the number of validated credits from previous knowledge and the level of commitment to the studies.

Micro & Macro Economics
This course examines the principles and variables of microeconomics: theory of the consumer, theory of the firm, perfect and imperfect competition, welfare economics, and selected topics in general equilibrium and uncertainty. It also covers the principles and variables of macroeconomics: models of aggregate supply and demand, theories of consumption and investment, money supply and demand, inflation, rational expectations, stabilization policy, financial markets, and international finance.

Economic Analysis
This course examines the theory and applications of several instruments of business economic analysis: production technologies, cost and profit, perfect and imperfect competition, individual choice preferences and demand, and the market-based system (price formation, efficiency, and welfare). It considers the use of economic analysis for problem identification, problem solving, critical thinking, consultation, project management, and strategies for effectiveness.

This course studies the development and application of numerical analysis, methods, and algorithms to problems in the economics, applied sciences and engineering.

Applied Statistics
This course reviews the applicability and certainty of statistical tools, random variables analysis, and probability, and how they may be used in decision theory, and to estimate risk and uncertainty.

Investment Strategies
This course deals with the theory and practice of portfolio management. Topics includes alternative techniques for designing investment portfolios and the criteria for revision and performance evaluation. It also discusses portfolio insurance, the use of options and futures markets, and international topics, ethics, and social issues affected by investment strategies.

Econometrics
This course explores the models and methods used to estimate relationships and test hypotheses pertaining to economic variables. It reviews simple and multiple regression analysis; stochastic regressors; heteroskedasticity; autocorrelation; measurement error; and simultaneous equations. It explains the use of econometric models for tests of economic theories and forecasting.

Econometric Analysis
This course analuzes the static and dynamic models of economic activity at both the micro and macro levels with an emphasis on taking decisions under uncertainty. It explores the role of fiscal and monetary policies, the price level, labor employment, equilibrium analysis, efficiency, and welfare, market failures, economic growth, business cycles, and governmental policies.
